The drive heading South from Denver over Kenosha Pass always wows me, even after 25 years of looking at this amazing land mass called South Park, Colorado. The night sky in August, if you are lucky enough to camp is a superior place to view the Perseids meteor shower.
South Park the headwaters for the South Platte River has dams at Antero, Spinney and Elevenmile Reservoirs. Perfect for outdoors recreation enthusiasts and fishing pros.
Jefferson Lake offered my first time, world class fly fishing experience via mountain bike, near the little historic town of Jefferson. There are several hot springs near Hartsel.
Bordered by Summit County to the North and the Ten Mile and Mosquito Ranges,
there are five 14,000 ft peaks that will keep you in hiking heaven.
If you are fascinated by the culture of the TV show and always wondered about South Park, take a closer look at all that South Park, Colorado has to offer. Don’t speed thru Alma, or Fairplay, however…the local cops will pull you over.
